The Society of Honorary Doctors exists to unlock the extraordinary, yet often untapped, potential of distinguished individuals recognised by Universities worldwide. We enable institutions to draw upon the insight, influence and networks of their Honorary Doctors, strengthening leadership thinking, enriching staff and student experience, and supporting progress across education, research and societal engagement. Through a curated international community, we provide our Fellows with meaningful opportunities to connect, collaborate and contribute, ensuring that distinction becomes a catalyst for purpose, progress and lasting impact.

The Founder of the Society
Dr Andy Campbell D.Univ FSHD
Founder
Andy is an accomplished entrepreneurial leader with a proven record of founding and scaling ventures. He leads with strategic vision and a growth focus, having securing over £40m in contracts and £2m in venture capital historically. He excels in leading teams, shaping strategy, and delivering upon multi-million-pound budgets.
With board-level expertise, Andy is skilled in governance, financial planning, and stakeholder engagement across private, public, academic and charitable sectors. Globally connected, he has built effective partnerships with both industry and government.
Presently, Andy is Chief Executive of Space Network, an international organisation dedicated to advancing the commercialisation of the global Space sector. He's held the position of Chair of Young Enterprise Scotland, champions STEM education and youth empowerment, and has established two charities to support entrepreneurs and community regeneration.
In 2019, Andy received his Honorary Doctorate from University of the West of Scotland. This is awarded to persons of high distinction who have earned national / international recognition and standing in their field or activities within education, industry, public service, sport, culture or the arts.
